Under the leadership of Rev Fr Scaria Mammootil, Mr. Antony Tudu, the leader of the Chalkari village approached Sr. Lourdes Mary, the then Mission superior with a written application signed by the villagers requesting her to start a mission station at Chirki, a remote village, in Bhagalpur diocese. Thus 3 Sisters began their stay in a house inaugurated on 8th Aug. 1976. This was a red-letter day in the annals of FCC Mission as it marked the beginning of the FCC Hazaribag mission's work among the Santhals. At present Sisters are engaged in teaching, healing and socio pastoral activities.
